According to a report made by United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the average American consumes twenty-four pounds of ice cream, munches on thirty-six pounds of cheese, and then finishes it all up with 200 pounds of milk and cream. What are the risks?
Since 2005, the over-all dairy consumption in the US has dramatically declined. The reasons are as varied: lactose intolerance, dairy allergy, weight loss, disease prevention, and skin problems.
Is switching to lactose-free diet plan worth it? Hera are some factors to consider:

Going on a dairy-free diet plan means you are now able to ditch your concealer and stash your full coverage foundation to the bin. Dairy products, such as milk, cheese, and ice cream boost the amount of insulin-like growth factor in your system, that is believed to foster cancer cell growth.
Despite all the buzz that is made about dairy free and lactose intolerance diet, know that this type of diet has its few particular downsides too.
- Removing dairy products from your diet could set the stage for bone fractures and osteoporosis. Although you can still find other sources of calcium from kale, broccoli, and other green leafy vegetables, your body absorbs more calcium from milk than from any other type of food.
- Contrary to popular belief, going dairy-free doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll effortlessly slenderize. Dairy is a rich source of protein and fat, and fat keeps you full. This might mean ending up replacing all these fat and protein from milk with simple carbs and other not-so-healthy stuff which can lead to gaining more weight.
- One of the most popular dairy substitutes is soy. Soy does provide similar taste and texture, but it is more difficult to digest. Soy contains oligosaccharides, a type of sugar molecule that your body doesn’t digest very well. This would mean more bloating, gas, and possibly passing wind.
